OUR GROUP CLASSES
The reformer machine was created by Joseph Pilates and is a machine that uses a combination of pulleys, straps and springs to move and challenge the body with a variety of exercises.
Classes will generally start lying down, gradually building over the course of the session, into more challenging movements and positions; culminating a full body integration.
Teachers will guide you using cues to allow you to perform exercises safely, and will offer regressions and progressions depending on the level of the class.
We recommend all new clients start with our Foundation classes, which are curated for our less experienced, injured or clients wishing to recap on foundational exercises.
Pre/post natal clients - please book into our Nurture classes which are specifically curated for you.
REFORMER
The Tower is a different experience to the reformer. It has a stable base, and uses a combination of springs and a bar to allow for more fluid movement that develops your core strength and awareness of whole body integration.
The majority of Tower exercises are ‘open chain’, meaning that unlike many reformer exercises, they are not fixed to stationary surface. This means they have less fixed support, so your body is called to provide the support and stability within the movement.
You will start with Tower Foundations and once you have completed 10+ classes you will be invited to join the Tower Flow classes.
Pre/post natal clients - unfortunately all Tower classes are unsuitable for you. Please book into our Nurture classes which are specifically curated for you.
TOWER
Mat Pilates is the foundation of every Pilates practice.
Learn how to move your body and develop your core control without external help. Challenge your proprioception and amaze yourself of your strength as you build up your mat practice.
Our timetable contains a range of classes from the beginner/injured to the experienced practitioner. By building your experience in mat, you will find that your performance in other disciplines will increase exponentially.
Pre/Post natal clients - please check with us for classes that are suitable, or book into a Nurture class.
MAT
Jumpboard is an accessory that is fixed to the bottom of the reformer to create a horizontal surface to use as a jumping surface. This creates a low-impact cardio-based session, in conjunction with pilates exercises challenges and strengthens core control and physical agility. Expect lots of laughter too.
Barre is based on ballet training exercises traditionally performed at the barre. Expect small pulsing movements, focusing on alignment and precision.
Barre and jumpboard will be weaved into Flow and Advanced Flow classes.
Jumboard and Barre are unsuitable for pre/post-natal.
